Abstract

In this essay, the author sums up the contributions of John Finnis to two subjects: practical science and prudentia. First, he points out the analogical character of the concept of science, and its use in the field of practical knowledge. And with reference to practical wisdom or prudentia, he refers to its importance for the determination of the objects of virtues and the role of moral absolutes in practical reasoning.
